Our Team

John Sutton, CPA, Shareholder

John is a tax partner who has been with Sutton-McCann since the mid 1970's. John's practice is concentrated in tax compliance, tax and financial planning and financial statement preparation. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. He received an AA degree from Menlo College in Atherton, CA, a BA degree in economics from Willamette University in Salem, OR and an MBA from University of Puget Sound in Tacoma.

Loren McCann, CPA, Shareholder

Loren is a tax partner who has been with Sutton-McCann since 1985. Loren specializes in tax and estate planning and is heavily involved with financial consulting, business planning and tax compliance. Loren is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. He received his BA in business administration from Washington State University and his MS in Taxation from Golden Gate University. Loren, also, is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning. He was an adjunct professor of Taxation at City University for ten years where he taught individual and business tax classes in the evenings.

Gordon Bower, CPA, Shareholder

Gordon joined our firm in November, 2009. He has 30 years experience in the accounting profession with the last 14 years in public accounting. His areas of concentration include individual, corporate, partnership, and trust taxation. Gordon has provided tax planning to a diverse set of clients. He is a member of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. Gordon received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Central Washington University.

Sharon Holcomb, EA, Shareholder

Sharon is an Enrolled Agent and a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. In addition to Income Tax Returns, Sharon prepares Employment and Excise Tax Returns for business clients. She also assists clients with bookkeeping and payroll services. Sharon can help you solve problems and streamline your QuickBooks file. Sharon is a member of the City Club of Tacoma and serves on the Board of Directors, as Treasurer, for the Safe Streets Campaign.

Christine Bartlett, Office Manager/Shareholder

Christine manages office operations, coordinates client contact including data transfer and scheduling, helps design our internal organization, and leads all our other business operation functions. In addition, Christine heads our marketing efforts and recruiting. Christine has a Bachelor of Science from Warner Pacific College. She is actively concerned with civic affairs and is a member of the City Club of Tacoma.

Trang H. Mai, J.D., LL.M. (Taxation)

Trang is an adjunct professor for Golden Gate University Master of Taxation Program. She is also a faculty member for the U of Phoenix, Western Washington Campus. Trang will be teaching college financial accounting and graduate level taxation courses on-campus one evening per week as well as presenting tax seminars during off-tax season. She has worked in the field of tax accounting for over five years. Prior to pursuing a career in tax accounting, she earned her Law Degree from Case Western Reserve University, School of Law. Subsequently, she acquired a Master of Laws Degree in Taxation from the U of Washington, School of Law. Trang currently maintains her law license with the Washington State Bar Association and is a member of the Washington Society of CPAs. She enjoys spending most of her free time with her teenage son. She believes in eating healthy, staying fit both mentally and physically, and seeing humor in life.
